I bought this for a friend who has had chronic pancreatitis for a number of years. She read and reread it (and continues to refer to it) and says it is the best book on the subject she ever read. She is very knowledgeable about her condition but said there was much she learned in this book. Her only regret was that she had not read it years ago. She lent it to a friend with acute pancreatitis who also found it extremely helpful. As a concerned friend, I read it myself and learned a lot about her condition.
This is the best informative book on pancreatitis. The drawings and the explanations are excellent. Also, the recipes for pancreatic patients, which is a lifelong diet after suffering this disease, are terrific. After reading article after article on acute pancreatitis, we gained so much more information from this handbook. Every pancreatic patient should be given this handbook. It has the best guidelines in living with the aftermath of pancreatitis that we've found before and after coming home from the hospital.
This book is thin enough to carry in my purse so I can look quick what I can eat. Nice diagrams also. Best book I've read that is simple enough to understand.
I suffered from acute pancreatitis a few months ago and this is the first book/information that actually helped me....great information and easy to understand.
