This writer has excellent insight into human emotions. I have read several reverse harem novels and in each all of the men appeared perfectly fine with sharing one woman. In this book, the author doesn't just have all of the men getting along fine. They do express a full range of human emotions. I can't wait for the next book.
I'm a sucker for reverse harems and dragon-themed stories, and Stroke the Flame ticked both boxes! I really liked how Kira was strong-willed and able to stand up for herself. That is sometimes rare in this genre, unfortunately. While I like the guys protecting her, she was not afraid to take up a bow herself and kick some butt. I also appreciated that she was eventually able to accept this wacky role she was thrown into without too much of a fit. It helped us see some good development between her and the guys earlier on ;)Auric and Jasin are both completely adorable and I love that they were pretty much fine with being connected to Kira for the rest of their lives from the moment they met her. I also found myself loving Reven (darn bad boys, drawing my in again) but it will take a little more time for me to really get to know Slade, as I don't tend to be drawn to the more protective, quiet types. But I have a strong feeling by the end of the next few books he'll be on my love list too.Overall, I really liked the story and the characters kept me entertained until the end. I love that we had a couple chapters from each of the guy's perspectives, as I always want to know what they're thinking about everything as well. I can't wait to see where the future books take Kira and her men!Rating: 4/5 stars
Elizabeth has done a great job on her first book in this fantasy series.I love the concept of her kingdom. The characters are being developed well and I am enjoying the way all of the main players are coming together.I don!t want to spoil it so I won't say much about the plot as it is important to learn about them as you are reading.I am looking forward to the second book in the series. Go Kira, Jason. Auric, Spade, and Reven.
Loved this first entry in an awesome RH fantasy romance! The book is a pleasure to read, great writing and plot, with a slow build romance that leads to a hot hot reward at the end. Looking forward to the next books!
I read this hot reverse harem fantasy in one day! I love Elizabeth Briggs's venture into fantasy romance, and I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
This starts lots of interesting subplots. It is hard to see how the protagonists will win against an evil, oppressive regime. They are committed to each other and to 'destiny.' New revelations kept this interesting for me as I rooted for their success.
Elizabeth Briggs books are well written, filled with enchanting characters and intriguing plots and worlds. Definitely worth reading and recommended.
Fantastic story! I'm excited for book two. I hope there's an audio version! (I haven't looked yet)This is my first time reading this author. The female narrator was amazing however the male wasn't my favorite hence the four stars.
