This is a well-written book that deserves 5 stars, but I can't give it 5 stars because the publisher didn't properly format it for Kindle. One of the key sections of the book is a list of recipes. None of them were entered/formatted properly by the publisher so the ingredient lists overlap the instructions. I'm disappointed Amazon let this slip through the cracks.

When I first switched to eating plant-based, the first edition of this book was my go-to guide on how to eat. My life has completely changed since I switched to plant-based, and I owe a lot of it to that first edition (I lost 60 lbs. after switching and have been able to keep it off). I ordered the second edition of the book not expecting there to be too much that has changed, but because it has been so impactful on my life, I knew I needed to get it. I am blown away by how more content is in this book. Julieanna and Ray put a lot of time and effort into revising and editing this edition. It’s shocking how much more evidence is out there now about how eating plant-based is the best way to expand your lifespan versus ten years ago.Julieanna and Ray have done an excellent job of giving everyone the research while keeping it simple enough that even I could read and understand it. This book completely revolutionized the way I look it food. Their information on metabolism, oxidative priority, and maximizing health span are fascinating. They broke the book up into four sections. The first part gives all the evidence as to why it is better to eat a whole food, plant-based diet. The second part discusses how to live a plant-based life. The third section focuses on how children, athletes, the elderly should eat. There’s also information about losing weight. And the last section gives great tips for eating out, what you should stock your pantry with, and a whole bunch of recipes.The part of the book that really blew my mind was how they brought to light our misconceptions about the macronutrients: proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. We often think of certain foods as being protein (beef) and others as carbs (white potatoes). But if you eat the same number of calories of white potatoes as 90% lean beef, you actually get a higher amino acid profile from the white potatoes. Protein is in reality needed in smaller amounts than most of us think, and since all living things are made up of amino acids, we don’t have to worry about becoming protein deficient on a plant-based diet.I am also really excited about the recipes section. Again, I thought that this was just going to be the recipes that were in the first edition, but there are tons of new ones here. I am really excited to start pouring through them and picking different ones to try.What emerges from this book is an impressive overview on how to live a healthy, plant-based lifestyle. Julieanna and Ray articulately lay out the case for why you should change the way you eat. And then they take you step-by-step on how you can implement this into your own life. They don’t say that it’s an easy journey, but it’s definitely one that is worth it.

There are several things that I appreciate about Hever's and Cronise's book:1) It's written for every body. In other words, most literate people will be able to read and understand the concepts presented. This is pretty cool, because nutrition is confusing and even though I'm not an idiot, the science of what I need to eat is clearly explained to me.2) It's non-judgmental. I'm a clinical hypnotherapist, so I understand what happens when people are told that they are overweight because they are gluttonous sloths. This book presents the information in a palatable way that releases folk from guilt while inciting them toward taking responsibility for their own health.3) Even for someone who has been studying and practicing (mostly) a plant-based regimen, I learned new stuff! I love learning new stuff, especially when it is based on science sources that I can trust.This book is joining my list of must-read resources for my clients who struggle with weight and nutrition issues. I am only about 50 pages into the book and already I have come across sections that have helped clarify concepts that have confused me in the past despite asking questions of colleagues and reviewing other texts (e.g. how to differentiate schizoaffective disorder from a mood disorder, say depression or bipolar disorder, with psychotic features). I am a PMHNP student in the last year of a DNP program, and would recommend this to others in a similar position, providers in other specialties who want to know more about psychiatry, or anyone else with a genuine interest in understanding psychiatric interviewing and diagnosis better. I wish that I had found and read this book prior to some of my earlier coursework where I was evaluated on my ability to interview and diagnose, because I think it would have helped.

I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner student, and after reading the author's previous pharmacology book, I had to get this one. This book just makes total sense and brings light to a subject that can be very confusing. The only thing that I would tell the author is that there are so many typos in the book that I wonder if it somebody proofread this ... Maybe I am a perfectionist (not OCD), but it bothers me a bit ... LOL

Im in school of PMHNP school now and im using this as a way to bring all the information together that im learning in school.its very helpful to break things down.

I am excited that the book is now available on Kindle! Unfortunately, many of the pictures in the Kindle edition appear to be incorrectly sized and are chopped up over multiple pages? Maybe Amazon can fix the pictures.

I'm still working my way through the book, but since there are no other reviews, I'll share my thoughts so far...This book is a great starting point for getting your online business going. Consider it a basic outline for all the factors you're going to have to consider when starting your business. You won't find all the answers you need here, but this book will get you pointed in the right direction. As far as I can tell, the information is very up-to-date, which I imagine is a big challenge for a printed book about operating on the web.Many of the most popular books about online business creation are more inspirational. This book is practical. I think a good mix of the two is in order. So if you're looking for a practical guide, this is a nice option to consider.My only (minor) complaint is the silly "11 books in 1" tagline. No, it's not 11 books. It's one book with 11 sections. Just because the editors didn't bother to tie all the 11 sections in together, doesn't mean you get 11 books. But that's ok. I didn't want 11 books (who would?).

This book has definitely helped me start building my company. It has all the basics to hep you build your company, market it, and help with the build of your website. I found my website builder didn't offer much, especially when it comes to putting policies on the site, and this book helped me make great suggestions for other future companies using their website building platform.

I got this book for a college class, and it was pretty intimidating at first with its 800+ pages.But it's a really really good book on the subject and worth the read!!Part of it are a little dry, but most of the sections are kept brief and to the point, so even if you're not overly enjoying the topic, you're getting what you need to know from it, and it's information that will help your business that you might not have considered otherwise.The sections are nicely split up so that, although as a previous reviewer mentions, it's not 11 books in one, you can still kind of pretend it is, and tackle the pages by subject area. That way you can concentrate on learning one thing at the time and don't feel you have to rush through 800 pages, but instead can split it into chunks of around 200 pages at a time while still getting complete information.Really surprised by this book, considering it's in the for Dummies series, and only costs around 30. Well worth it if you're considering starting an online business, or an offline business with online aspects, such as a website or an online store.I borrowed a digital version of this book initially, but found it hard to follow or jump to sections that way. I much preferred the big heavy print version, maybe also because it fed my ego looking at how many pages I'd gotten through as I worked through the course and book.

I am still reading the book. Data is extremely helpful especially in the area of legal requirements for a business. Thank you to the authors for assembling this work as it makes it much easier to create a plan on creating my own business.

The book arrived in less than 72 hours after I purchased it. And let me say this book is a wealth of knowledge. I have read it cover to cover and have many page markers. It's written in easy to understand lingo and points out many things most people might over look. It's a large book but worth every word. I highly suggest purchasing this if your even considering starting a business. easy read, very detailed, great price, up to date , a must read. I would recommend this to friends and family. One of the better purchases I have made thus far in creating my online business. no regrets.

I don't like to post a review until I've finished a book but this one is obviously the one a person needs to get started in an e-business. As outlined in other posts it doesn't have advanced, minute details but it does bring up every subject one needs to know about in starting a business including a business plan, taxes, home office, internet security, etc. So far I've only finished about a third of the book and find that it's well written. It doesn't just have lots of information in it the book is easy to read and interesting. The part about taxes is not as interesting as the part about profit but that's life.

I love this book it really is an amazing book. This book really goes through all the steps you need to know to open an online business. Very detailed, easy to understand and I highly recommend it.

I started an online business selling and servicing residential playground equipment and this book was crucial to its current success. I started the process without the book but bought it as the other "For Dummies" books have been an easy read with many helpful tips and I wanted to get some outside ideas with having to spend a lot of time reading. This book was perfect as it was organized into sections of interest that I could read without having to read the entire book to get out of it what I was looking for at that particular moment. As with all other book in this series, it was well organized, easy to follow and understand and made quick work of finding helpful information without having to spend hours researching.Most importantly, the book offered valuable advice on many topics that I had not even considered. As a tradesman with some college, this book was invaluable to me and my current success as I spent the last few months setting up my website and now I am not only selling playsets on a regular basis, but I am installing and servicing them and have had to hire help to answer the phones , work in the field, and had to get an accountant to help with all of the money that is coming in and to aid me in my taxes. To me, this is my dream fulfilled and I honestly do not believe that my site would look as professional as it does or be as good as it is without the aid of this book- it truly was very helpful to me and I hope that if you are starting your own online business that you give it a try and see exactly what I mean as it walks you through everything from formulating an idea for a business, to getting the proper licensing, to implementing the site and going live on the net. I bought this for a friend who has had chronic pancreatitis for a number of years. She read and reread it (and continues to refer to it) and says it is the best book on the subject she ever read. She is very knowledgeable about her condition but said there was much she learned in this book. Her only regret was that she had not read it years ago. She lent it to a friend with acute pancreatitis who also found it extremely helpful. As a concerned friend, I read it myself and learned a lot about her condition.

This is the best informative book on pancreatitis. The drawings and the explanations are excellent. Also, the recipes for pancreatic patients, which is a lifelong diet after suffering this disease, are terrific. After reading article after article on acute pancreatitis, we gained so much more information from this handbook. Every pancreatic patient should be given this handbook. It has the best guidelines in living with the aftermath of pancreatitis that we've found before and after coming home from the hospital.

This book is thin enough to carry in my purse so I can look quick what I can eat. Nice diagrams also. Best book I've read that is simple enough to understand.

I suffered from acute pancreatitis a few months ago and this is the first book/information that actually helped me....great information and easy to understand.

Exceptional book...easy reading and very informative. Helped the entire family better understand what my daughter is going though and how we can help her.

Folk art, with its simple lines and bold colors is an outstanding source of ideas for needlepoint. This beautifully produced book takes as its sources all kinds of items from the museum, from hooked rugs to weathervanes and delivers them up as lovely needlepoint. The projects are mostly stitched in Basketweave, with commonly available threads such as floss, pearl cotton, and Persian wool. This is fantastic because it makes the projects accessible to stitchers everywhere. The reference section at the back of the book has instructions on making all the stitches and a color conversion chart. The projects, designed by Karyn Gerhard, are divided into five sections: Daily Life, Beasts & Bugs, Flowers, Hearts, and Geometrics. Each section begins with a listing of the projects. The projects each have a picture of the original piece and have the needlepoint photographed in a room setting that showcases more folk art (for even more inspiration). The introduction to each project talks about the project and the other folk art in the setting. Each project also has a material list, information about stiching and finishing it, and some lovely and inventive ideas for variations. That seems like a simple thing, but many books lack it and you can tell from the variations that Ruth and Karyn are needlepointers themselves. The charts are large and in full color with synbols as well, making them easy to read. The color key not only lists the symbols in the chart with the thread and color number, but it also lists how many skeins are needed. If you want to stitch one of the projects in the book, you can take this and buy everything you need all at once. Another useful, but often neglected item. Also in this section is extensive information about the objects used as inspiration, additional information about needlepoint, finishing instructions, and a list of sources. A inspiring book, beautifully produced. I'd love to see more like it.

This is a wonderful book of projects that display folk art designs. The photography is great as are the designs to produce and needlepoint one for yourself.
