The book does a good job of explaining the difference between various financial statments, how they relate to one another, and why it matters. If you're a new manager who suddenly confronted with budgeting decisions or responsible for running a P&L, this book is a great place to start your education.

I’m an MBA grad. Bought this book for my wife who is not a business major and needed a crash course on accounting for a certificate in management through her employer. This book was amazing! This would have made undergrad accounting courses that much easier. Great gift for high school grads or pre-business students. If you have a BS in business this book is a repeat of your financial and managerial accounting courses in undergrad. I don’t think you’ll learn something new from it.

Super spoilers here... I've always had a thing against Valmont, so I'm pleased with the outcome. I loved the book, like all the others it was great. I love Bryn, she's so easy to identify with. That being said, I feel this book was kind of slow and drawn out, then we get to the big emotional epic parts of the book and BAM! those are over in a heartbeat. The way Bryn was acting after her friend died....blew my mind. This girl has had the biggest of all dramatic fits about Zavien and her current love issues... but she didn't seem affected much by something that changes her entire life from now on. Her betrothed will never be the same, this is a huge loss. The book just ends almost right after that with no more thought to the friend. That really bothered the hell out of me. The chemistry between Bryn and Jaxon is something I love as well, but we don't see much of it in this book. He isn't as present as past books.

In the beginning of this series, I wasn't a huge fan of Bryn. She seemed childish and freaked when something didn't go her way. Since the first book, you've seen her slowly mature and take her family' reputation more seriously. As you get to the end of this book, you see her transform into a true Blue (but not in a bad way.) This is the best book in the series so far! You'll smile, laugh, and cry as you read this book. Finally, the book doesn't actually end in a cliffhanger, but it ends in the way that leaves you are frustrated because you crave to know more about how she is feeling and what is going to happen between her relationships between friends, family, enemies, and frienemies. I can't wait for the next book!!!!

~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~I love all things dragons, so naturally I love this book. But more than that I love the chemistry that the characters have in this book. So, if you have been reading this series, you know what has been going on. Well, I can tell you that if you do not read this book, you will miss out on something HUGE!! I mean, jaw dropping huge that you will not see it coming at all! I know I didn't.Again, Chris Cannon has gone above and beyond my expectations. Her writing is wonderful to read. The chemistry and the angst that the characters have is perfect and you can feel it coming off the pages! I implore you to get this book now!!

I'm not sure if I loved this book or hated it...... No I totally loved it.... But I'm mad at myself about my love of it! The twists and turns in this book were RIDICULOUS! I definitely didn't see them coming, and while I absolutely love that, I'm also mad bc it means the book didn't go how I was hoping/thinking it would! (I will begrudgingly admit it was even better than my weak brain's attempt.) This book set a dramatic climax for the last book, and I am DYING to see how Chris Cannon will blow my mind next.

Action, Romance, and plot twist are what await you in this new addition to the series. This is probably my favorite one yet. You see the characters come more into their own while struggling to live through things no normal Junior in highschool would ever go through. Chris once again hit this on out of the Park, buy her wonderful style of making you feel like you are right their with the characters. A must read not only for teens and young adults but adults as well! Can't wait for more!!!!! Small spoiler makes more sense once your done...I'm totally team JAXON!!!!!

Good read. Non stop action along with an emotional rollercoaster. Some tacky language but not much. Clean and fit for younger readers. 16+. I do hope this isn't the end of the story even though it looks like a major triangle is forming. Hate those. The Directorate and Jaxon's father need to hit the ground and not be allowed back up.

Great story! Lots of interesting developments with the hybrid dragons and the gang goes on lots of exploring adventures to find clues. The ending is very sad but leaves an opening for developments of certain relationships for Bryn. I am hoping for Jaxon but you don't see any real developments in this book but we'll see in the next. The book does have some foul language but is a clean book which I like. I am hoping Ms. Cannon doesn't make us wait a year for the next book! Great story!

There is more than enough action -- fighting, battling, scheming, more fighting, dying, recovering -- but not much conversation. Not much relationship development. The book is a bridge to the next. Which is necessary. You have to get from point to point and this is the way Kevin Hearne is getting there. But you won't get resolution, not yet.It's beautifully written (as always). This is the first book in which Granuaile has her own voice. She's a full character now, co-equal with Atticus. Chapters alternate in the first person, her speaking, him speaking. At first, it jarred me a little, but then, I liked it. Nice to have both a male and female primary character in a fantasy novel. I can't remember if I've ever read a book in this genre where both sexes had equal roles. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's all good.I'm not going to give anything away. No spoilers, sorry.If you are a fan of the series, you will like the book. It's probably not quite what you expect, but it's excellent. It's a very critical link for what's coming.And it's Granuaile's coming of age. In a way, it's also Atticus' coming of age, even though you might think he's seen it all and done it all. Not so. A lot of new stuff for him to chew on, work his way through, not the least of which is having a real relationship with someone other than his dog.There are a lot of surprises and plot twists. Not all endings are happy. There are victories ... temporary wins. Holding actions. I'm not sure there are any victories to be had at this stage as the world draws close to Ragnarök. It's all survival, treachery and slippery alliances.I think I will have to hold my breath for the next book. And I need to read this one a couple more times to really absorb it. It flew by way too fast. If you have not read any of the previous books, do yourself a favor and do not start with this one. Start at the beginning. There is a lot of history and the characters have all been built through the entire series. They won't make sense without the earlier books.It's available in paperback and on Kindle. Also as a download from Audible.com. Read it. Love it. Wait for the next episode.

Thoroughly enjoyable, well-written and well-researched books with an interesting premise. I am more than happy to give Kevin Hearne a 5 star rating in addition to purchasing everything he has published. I hope many others discover the fun adventures of The Iron Druid and a very entertaining cast of characters. However, the reader must jump through a mandatory hoop if you choose to leave a rating. Star ratings are not acceptable on their own. No, any star rating is booby-trapped with the requirement of a written review, further weighted with a minimum word count, no less! Write a review or no stars from you. This is a tad bit bit onerous for the buyer who enjoyed reading the book and respects the author enough to pause and tap some stars. The demand for written review effectively prevented me from posting the 5 star rating that might encourage others to enjoy an excellent book. This is ultimately unfair to Mr. Hearn, undoubtedly depriving him of many well-deserved 5 star ratings. Guilt eventually caught up with me, so herein lies not only my enthusiastic support of this book, but a bonus review of a misguided policy: to the Kindle folks or whoever came up with this Either/Or toll: lighten up on the needy/greedy gate keeping, already.

Kevin Hearne has created a magical version of our world (and a wonderful mash up of world mythology) as told by a two thousand year old Druid who only looks to be in his twenties, living in Arizona. Every book is witty and action-packed, great entertainment. Once you start, you will want to read every one, in order. Highly recommended.

Well number 6 of the Iron Druid Chronicles series Kevin Hearne. This is definitely a step up from Trapped. Hunted took you on a whole new level of adventures, with so much going on you'd think it would be hard to keep up however it flowed quite smoothly.However, the first time the POV change it did confuse me for a sentence or two, but then it became the norm for the book though there weren't too many.This book though will definitely get you the feelers, I mean you grow with each character in a book, and when something happens, you feel that as well.But alas, there are happy times in this book too, as well as the glorious laughs you get with these books, the quips are just downright hilarious.I'm quite interested on what's going to happen in the next book, and this one leaves you with a "Oh Snap!" at the end. OH SNAP!

Using this college text for an advanced high school course on Nutrition. We calculated nutritional needs (calories and food choices) for the average student, the athlete, the person who needs to improve his diet, restrict calories, decrease fats, and we have been able to do extensive food label analysis using this book. Do you read and understand food labels? Understand RDA? This is a very good textbook, and my parent wants to keep it as a reference, because it contains information to be able to calculate caloric needs, explain food groups, and link to all current government nutrition websites, such as Choose My Plate.gov. She will be able to explain nutritional needs to her patients and their parents.A new edition is coming out this year, but this book is still current, and written by college nutrition professors.

The design of the ebook is almost unusable. It is a pain to use, as Kindle for PC and Kindle for Android struggle to flip pages or even do searches for keywords. I tried one of my e-physics books on kindle from a different publisher and I was able to flip pages and search keywords effortlessly, so it's due to the weird restraints/design that Wiley put on the material.

I really enjoyed reading this textbook. It was thorough enough that I fully understood the concepts, but also succinct. I really can't stand authors that go off on long tangents. This textbook was very clear and easy to read. Loved the way it highlighted all the important terms and had very clear paragraph headers so I knew exactly what to read when studying. I know this is an older edition, but as far as I can tell the updated edition only makes changes to the sections on the updated food pyramid/myplate stuff. I used this older (and cheaper) version and had no problems in class.

Well first of all there were two hole on one of the pages. Also some of the pages were not lined up neatly like that should for a binder. However the shipping is earlier than expected and I thank the humans who delivered it .

Needed this for uni as it was no longer available in SA and because it is so useful finding second hand is almost impossible. There is a newer version out. Exactly as expected and as needed.

It has what you need to pass your nutrition class in college. Any useful information? Hardly.On every page they lecture you on saturated fat intake, and tell you to eat more healthy whole grains. Choline is hardly mentioned. Bioavailability is hardly mentioned, neither is genetic differences, or antinutrients. Neither is food quality. These nutrition PhD's focus too much on individual nutrients that they forget about food quality.What's in this book is the same fluff that you could get from reading USDA's website.

I bought this book for a nutrition class but it has inspire me to take nutrition seriously. I learned so much from this book about eating right and taking care of my body.

I was disapointed that this nutrient composition did not include phosphorus. As a future renal dietitian phosphorus must be calculated daily to ensure patients stay within the correct levels. The book contained everything else I need and I was impressed with all the fast food products that were included. Please add phosphorus to your revisions. Thank you

I don't even write reviews, but in this case, I feel compelled. I am 45 years old, and never could I grasp the concept of decorating and interior design until I read this book. It was just an ability that I didn't possess, even though I longed for a beautiful home. In my life I have looked at dozens of decor magazines and tried to read books about interior design, and my brain just refused to understand. This is the first book I have ever read on this subject that was easy. Easy to read and easy to understand. I actually couldn't put it down and had to read it cover to cover in one sitting. I am going to go back through it again. I am in the process of moving to a new home, and I cannot afford to hire an interior designer, but, for the first time ever, I actually have no fear of making the place look beautiful. The author is very friendly, witty, and funny. Some reviewers of her books may say that there's not a lot in here that we don't all already know. To each their own. But for me, to that I would say, trust me, we DON'T ALL know. Some may not like her "rules" or think that she is opinionated or bossy. Some may not like this, but I felt that, not only does she do this in a very lighthearted, humorous, and friendly way, it was EXACTLY what I needed. She simply turns decorating into a step-by-step formula that anyone can follow. And believe me, if I can follow it, anyone can. Not to mention all of the money in future mistakes that she has already saved me. I have sincere gratitute to Betsy for writing this book and helping anyone like me, anyone who thinks they just don't have the ability when it comes to interior design.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but the book was surprisingly straightforward and really helpful in figuring out how to approach the problem of designing a space. Note, this isn't an idea book. It's genuinely a how-to on interior decorating. Not too technical, not too abstract, yet not specific to any particular style and also very approachable. Appreciated the bonus decorator's kit list at the end, too.

I have a really hard time finding books that keep my interest any more. I have a ton of kindle books I downloaded thinking they were sci-fi, fantasy or dystopian only to find out they are really romances. Ill never read them, but every once in awhile I find a real gem. This series is one. I am sorry they are over. Good job!

I am going to give the same review for each of the 3 books as all I can say is that they were brilliant, non stop action and a great story to boot, loved the characters. Could not put all three books down and I hope their is a continuation of this epic tale.

I don't normally write a reviews of books I read, I just recommend books I like to my friends. So hopefully I have a few million new friends because this is one of the best vampire books I've read so you should as well.

I read these so fast due to it being an amazing page turner. I am looking forward to more from this world. Great start, middle and end to the saga.

This story sucks you in . . . Yes, I went there. Alex is not a perfect person, but she's a great character. She's not alone, as the other members of her team became as dear to me as they were to her and when she lost a member, I felt as if l'd lost a friend too. Loved the ending and am looking forward to the next book in the series.

If you like vampire genre books, read this! If you like post-apocalypse genre books, read this! Well-written character development, plot twists, whiplash-inducing reveals that make sense in hindsight... this book delivers. The only downside is that I finished on the plane and didn't have the second book with me!

I recently discovered P.T. Hylton through his Deadlock Trilogy and I enjoy his style very much. I'm looking forward to the rest of the books in this new trilogy!

After reading the reviews of numerous other photography books available on Amazon(Kelby,Peterson, Miotke, and the PhotoWorkShop series)I came to the conclusion that you can't please everybody, and everyone has strong opinions about their dislikes.This book is published by DK, and those familiar with the dense slick graphics of that publishing line will have a very good idea as to what they are getting- a lot of material well-covered in a somewhat superficial manner. Photo examples are rather smallish (the "thumbnail complaint" mentioned by another reviewer is valid. ). I also understand why the writing style might NOT be to all readers tastes.However, for a non-mathematical, advanced beginner digital SLR book, I believe Ang's book really does stand out from the crowd. For more comprehensive and technical coverage of the subject there are other, more specialized texts. The Amazon price reduction makes this book especially appearing. I gave this book as a gift to accompany a new Canon Rebel XS- and the recipient was quite pleased with both the material and presentation in the Masterclass book.I'd recommend it for a starter.

Photography books can be expensive and many times not very helpful. This book is neither and you can be comfortable buying it if you are a amateur photographer who has been taking pictures for awhile.Masterclass may be stretching it a bit.But it is a really beautiful and easy to understand book that can help push you forward if you have got a grasp on the basics of hobbyist photography.

I got this book somewhat randomly from my local library. I liked it so much that I bought it through Amazon to keep as a reference.I'd classify myself as a serious amateur photographer. I have a Canon T2i.I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in improving their photography in a comprehensive way. I'm usually happy if I get a few tips that I can use out of a book. This book, however, had many great tips and ideas. It covers both the photographic aspect (taking the pictures) and the post production aspect (manipulating using software). The former it does in a fairly detailed way. The later in a more general way which provides some guidance, but mainly makes you aware of what is possible.I particularly liked the photo shoot "assignments" provided. I would have liked to see more, but the ones provided were great and in a format which would enable you to create your own.This book may not be for you if: 1. you have a fairly basic point and shoot camera or 2. you do not have access to photo editing software. However, if you don't have photo editing software, then this book may inspire you to get it.Again, this gets my highest rating, but note the caveats.

I would say I'm an advanced beginner. Far from professional, but not wholly clueless, either. I just received this book, and I LOVE it. I own several other (drier) photography books. Most all of them leave me wondering "why are the images so bland in a photography book?" This one does not. It's a very "pretty" book, well designed with many lovely, interesting (and varied) photos. The text is thorough without being verbose. Succinct and engaging. It really makes you want to read it. I love--and can't wait to work through--the "assignments" at the end of each chapter; they will make lovely practices for photographers of all levels. The in-chapter interviews are nice and add "extra voices" to engage you in the art. Yes, there is more here for a beginner (advanced peeps won't need things--like burn and dodge, for example--defined for them) but there is a lot to this book, and you can't simply call it a beginner's book. It has nice layers of depth in each chapter. It's a wonderful conversation on photography, and --if for some reason you never 'use' it--it would be a lovely coffee table book. Love it.

This book is suited to learn the intricacies of digital photography. Well written lots of example and assignments to practice what you have just read.One of the good things is the photo analysis that highlights what is good or bad about a photograph. You don't have to agree with the analysis but you will get to understand another view point on the art.The target audience is the more advance photographer. I would highly recommend this book to help take your photography to the next level.

I have lots of digital photography books and subscribe to the usual digital photography magazines in hopes of improving my DSLR skills. This is the best, single, all inclusive, digital photography currently on the market. Its well-laid out, the author's prose is not burdened with technical jargon and the photo examples are especially good when used to illustrate techniques. My only criticism is that some of the photos, because of their size, are a bit too small to really see the differences a technique or camera setting might make. (but then, the book does have size limits) If I were going to buy two photography books that would help improve my understanding of digital photography, inspire me to make better photos and contained examples of great photography, this would be my first choice. My second book would be Joe McNally's "The Moment It Clicks." Its a bit pricey if bought at the list price, but its well worth the money. Buy it and you will never regret the purchase.

Experience is the best teacher. It's a great book to have at hand. But how you benefit from it is in your hand. Even if you read lots of books on how to swim, you will not learn unless you go into the water.Honest advise, replicate samples of picture composition of Tom Ang from his book. Get a notebook and write down the formula (speed, opening, lens, files number, etc) and you will learn a lot. Or simply write down info in word doc with your photo.
